Ideas for food and supplies needed regularly;
We rely on dedicated volunteers to keep our kitchen running and maintain our mission of “everyone pitches in.” The work involves various tasks, including washing dishes, wiping counters, cleaning the dining area, washing food, chopping and preparing ingredients, and general cooking duties.
Our volunteer shifts run from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Whether you can help one day a week, every other week, or once a month, we’ll work with you to find the right schedule.
We also offer shifts on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 2:00 pm to 4:30/5:00 pm to prepare food for local schools.
To learn more or sign up, please contact Cathy Craig at 02 4721 1444 (between 9:30 am and 2:00 pm, Monday through Thursday).
We also need volunteers to help with other tasks, such as picking up food items from schools after their food drives and collecting goods from local businesses like Sargent Pies and Bunnings. If you have your own transportation, we can provide a petrol voucher, thanks to a government grant. The Lions Club also hosts shopping centre food drives, and we often need volunteers to assist with collection.
Additionally, we have a vegetable garden that requires regular maintenance. If you enjoy gardening and would like to contribute in this way, please contact Cathy to learn more.
